The elevator was down and everyone was upset and stressed in the lobby waiting to get up to their floors and get to work on a Monday morning. I work on the 23rd floor but even the people who work on the 11th floor was upset because they had only 1 working elevator. I didn’t get upset. Instead, I used a technique I always do when I realize I have to wait and there’s nothing I can do about it. I used the time to be still.
We are always rushing from here to there, this job to the next job, one thing to the next thing, one meeting to the next. We need a moment to just be still and be with ourselves – reflect on how blessed we are to have the breath of life still in us, to experience the gift – this blessing called the experience of life. This moment will never come again so be grateful, breathe, appreciate this moment.
