Moringa is a superfood coming from Africa and Asia. The leaves are the most nutritious plant in the world with more than 92 types of nutrients and 46 types of antioxidants. It’s rich in protein, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, and vitamins C, E, A, and K.
Every part of the Moringa tree can be used. I use the leaves in my smoothies, but the seeds can be used to purify water.
Why I love Moringa
Moringa is used all over the world in underdeveloped countries to combat malnutrition. It is such an amazing plant. It helps to:
- improve sleep
- relieve anxiety and depression
- support brain health and enhance memory
- increase energy
- improve libido
- aid in post workout recovery
- improve digestion
- improve immune system function
- improve mood
- balance hormones
- treat stomach ulcers
- treat anemia
- treat arthritis and other joint pain
- treat thyroid disorders
Moringa has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral compounds so it helps reduce athlete’s foot, eliminate odors, get rid of dandruff, fight gum disease, and reduce inflammation that leads to acne.
If you are one those who worry about greens going bad often, this powder supplement could be for you. Look how it stacks up against kale nutritionally:
My favorite way to have this amazing green is to add the powder to smoothies. You can add it to any and all of your smoothies and find a combo that works for you.
My favorite moringa smoothie was one that my juice bar made, called Tree of Life Smoothie, which combined Banana, Mango, Moringa “The Miracle Tree”, Almond Butter, Dates & Alkaline Water.
Below are my favorite Moringa blends.

1 1/2 cups water
Pineapple Moringa
5 bananas
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp Moringa powder
1 to 2 cups water

3 bananas
1 cup water
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 tsp Moringa powder
Spicy Comfort
3 bananas
1/2 inch ginger root
1 orange, juiced
1 cup water
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 tsp Moringa powder
1/8 tsp cayenne powder
Spicy Pineapple Moringa
3/4 cup frozen pineapple
3 bananas
1/4 tsp vanilla
1-inch ginger root
1 tsp Moringa powder
1 cup water
Fire-Breather Anti-Inflammatory Ear-Opener Pineapple Moringa
3 bananas
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup water
1 tsp Moringa powder
1/4 tsp cayenne powder
*Proceed with caution on this one. Start with a dash and then maybe 1/8 tsp cayenne before doing 1/4 tsp in your smoothie. I did a 1/4 tsp of herbal grade cayenne (90,000 heat units) primarily because I had a sprained ankle I was nursing to health and the cayenne with the other ingredients are antinflammatory. I was working on bringing the inflammation down through nutrition and herbs and it worked like a charm.
Kiwi Moringa
3 bananas
1 kiwi, peeled and the ends cut off
1 tsp Moringa powder
1 sprig of mint leaves
4 oz of water
Spicy Kiwi Moringa
1 kiwi, peeled and the ends cut off
3 bananas
1 cup water
1 tsp Moringa powder
1/8 tsp cayenne powder
Spicy Hot Moringa
2 oranges juiced
a dash of cayenne
5 bananas
1 tsp Moringa powder
1/2 a lemon juiced
* If you’re in a bind with no ripe bananas, use a teaspoon of maple syrup with unripe bananas if you have no other sweet fruit in the blender. Do not use green bananas.
