A couple weeks ago, we talked about how hormonal imbalance could be causing weight loss resistance. We did not get to cover the chemicals that contribute to both.
As you are working to release excess fat, be mindful to avoid chemicals that disrupt hormones, like those found in plastics and endocrine disruptors. These chemicals are found in:
- Makeup
- Detergents
- House cleaning products
- Containers you could be storing your food in
Check labels for BPA, parabens, phthalates, and PCBs. All these chemicals negatively impact thyroid, reproductive system and brain function.
Avoid using pesticide on your lawn and buy organic food as much as possible. When you buy organic you not only avoid the chemicals of pesticides but you also avoid GMOs, which “could be a potential hazard on reproduction, linking to the development of infertility through influencing the endocrine metabolism, endometriosis.” The endocrine system releases hormones so if it is impacted by GMOs, it is safe to assume that the hormones can get thrown out of whack as well.
