Sometimes it’s hard for me to get the energy to exercise even though I know I will feel great during and after my workout. The initial push I need to get me started is the struggle. Here are a list of some motivators that has helped me find the energy to get up and get moving.
Music
When I know I need to work out, I just listen to some great exercise music while I’m doing my work on the computer. This usually pushes me to get up and start moving.
Movies and TV inspiration
I love movies and various TV shows. I just saw the movie Conan with Jason Momoa. I have his photo saved to my desktop. His body is beautiful and he worked pretty hard for it for that movie. I don’t plan to train six hours a day like he did but I know one hour will have me looking very close because I eat clean. His photo is a reminder that I have to work for what I want.
Money
I do a lot of working out at home because it is more convenient right now for me. I do however pay a monthly gym membership. Every month that money leaves my account, it reminds me that I can’t waste my money so regardless if I am at the gym or not I need to work out.
Personal Time
My schedule is super busy with lots of responsibilities and projects that are waiting to be completed. Working out for me is time to give to myself to have fun with good music and quiet my mind. It is like my own meditation regardless of the workout I am doing. All I can focus on is having fun and the movements I am doing, not all the stuff I have to do afterwards. It is a nice mental break from the world.
Clothes
I don’t worry about being fully in workout gear to start my workout. That is the benefit of working out from home. You can roll out the bed and start your workout in your jammy jams.
