Nutrition is not just food. We should also feed our soul and mind daily. To be healthy in a holistic fashion means to be fulfilled and happy in all aspects of life, not just the foods we eat. Career, relationships, physical activity and having a spiritual practice are all important to being a healthy individual.
I love to read. I read a different book every week. I learn so much and expand my life by applying what I learn. I want to share some of these great impactful books with you all each month. As you have time, you can read the book or download it on Kindle or Audible and at the end of each month we can discuss it on the blog. The first book I want to recommend may be a book some of you have read. It is called Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples by Harville Hendrix.
I have been reading this book and I find it very fascinating. The part I like the most is the tool to avoid long arguments with your loved ones. Arguing repeatedly can create stress and as I have said before, stress releases a hormone in the body called cortisol, which weakens the immune system. A peaceful home environment can mean a peaceful internal body environment for some people. Sometimes that is all the change a person needs to make is to have less stressful relationships to get rid of sickness and imbalance in the body.
