Over the holidays, I purchased both new wooden spoons and stainless steel spoons for cooking. I remember reading in Medical Medium Cleanse to Heal by Anthony William that when our knives get dull, those metal shavings end up in the food. This made total sense to me because obviously matter does not just disappear into thin air. We are eating it and the build up can become toxic, which is why it is important to detox at least once a year, best 4 times a year, because heavy metal poisoning can manifest into neurological disorders, like the brain not working properly, the nerves all jacked up and Parkinson’s like my grandfather had.
That had me looking at all my utensils closer. When I saw the wooden spoons in passing at the grocery store, I felt called to pick them up. Using my wooden bowl and plates for my meals are so enjoyable because they make me feel more connected to nature and to God. It is a mindful experience that calls me into the present moment so I knew intuitively I would enjoy these wooden spoons.
Cooking with the wooden spoons make me feel like Emeril Lagasse. I am no chef, which is why I love raw foods so much. However, I do cook delicious tasty meals that fit my criteria of healthy food and doing that with these wooden spoons is just more fun.
Joy is an integral part of well-being. As I said in an e-mail to my community last year, 2021 is a time for celebrating happiness, playfulness, and freedom. Dare I say that wooden spoons can do that for you? It has for me.
What can you do to make meal prep more fun this year?
My mom and I discuss the pros and cons of both wooden and stainless steel cooking utensils on today’s episode of the Raw Food Health Empowerment Podcast.
