Have you heard of spontaneous remission? Did you know you can make yourself sick when your mind thinks unhealthy thoughts?
The mind has the power to physiologically alter the body. So, when you heal your thoughts, you heal your mind.
A key factor in receiving treatment for something or embarking on a wellness program is belief. Believing in what you’re doing to make yourself well will accelerate the healing process as opposed to work against it.
This is why I know I would personally die in a hospital because of the fear I have associated with doctors and nurses and the mistakes they make that are life altering and the pharmaceutical drugs they push that deteriorate the body and fill it with harmful chemicals. This is my belief that I feel strongly based on my own experiences, experiences of friends and family, books I have read, articles I have read, and lectures I have listened to. Because of all this, the fear of waking up in a hospital or ending up there would just kill me.
Please note that I do not have any ill-will towards doctors and nurses. I feel they go into the practice with good intentions but the health care system is so messed up that most of these practitioners themselves are not even aware of the damage they are doing to people and themselves in a lot of cases. I am sure you have seen doctors smoking cigarettes and overweight nurses. Knowledge of nutrition is lacking in this area in most cases.
If I break a bone or cut off a limb, best believe I am going to the hospital to attach my parts back together. Then, I will go home and recover and let my body take over the healing process. Doctors are great for acute care but I personally don’t go to them for chronic conditions.
The body is a self healing organism. There are tools I utilize on myself and with my clients to facilitate the healing process but the body does the work. The mind specifically plays a huge role and I’m delighted that there is finally scientific proof to this laid out in Lissa Rankin’s book.
Have you read this book? Have you overcome an illness using your thoughts? If you have not, how do you think changing your thoughts could help your health right now? What would your life look like if you were an optimistic person, always knowing that your body is working to heal itself and you can overcome anything? Share your thoughts/experience below.
