Microwaves are super convenient and most homes in America have them. However, microwaves have already been proven to not be the safest option to prepare meals. Below are three reasons why you may want to reconsider your use of microwaves.

Microwaves cause plastic containers and food packaging to release carcinogens into the food. These carcinogens are proven endocrine disruptors that also cause infertility and birth defects.
3. You’re In Need of Nutrients
The heat from the microwave kills vitamins and phytonutrients that may render the food void of any nutritional value. One study done on broccoli showed a 97% decrease in nutrition of microwaved broccoli compared to raw broccoli. Steamed broccoli only showed a loss of 11%. So, microwaving breakfast, lunch and dinner may lead to nutritional deficiencies.
