Women have said many times to me that their work makes it difficult for them to find the time to meal prep and exercise but now the world of work has changed where major corporations have had to have their staff work from home during the pandemic and have realized it is more cost effective to keep people at home working as opposed to paying commercial rents. This is a positive thing, especially for Black women who are leaving large corporations in high numbers due to the workplace being toxic and stress inducing and having great job opportunities in other companies that are working to diversify.
Today on the podcast to discuss this is Watchen Nyanue, Founder and CEO of I Choose the Ladder, a career development agency that helps corporations develop and retain their high performing Black female talent through professional development workshops, curated events, and digital resources. She has worked with clients such as Nike, Best Buy, and Walgreens.
Before founding I Choose the Ladder, Watchen was the Senior Vice President of Marketing Partnerships for the WNBA, Chicago Sky. During the past 15 years of working in Corporate America, Watchen has worked for many renowned companies, including Comedy Central, Hearst Digital, Yahoo!, and Johnson Publishing Company.
